one of the best things i did for myself was re-configure what i thought of as the "bare minimum" to get done in one day was
i used to be so so ashamed all the time that things as simple as making a meal for myself or brushing my teeth or not sleeping for 14 hours at a time felt nearly impossible for me.
i'd say to myself: okay, this is it, this is the list of things i will complete EVERY day
and invariably i would fail and feel ashamed and stop bothering to try to do anything at all.
until i made the list something more like:
* eat at least 1 food
* feed the animals
* do my best to go to work / class, but if i can't its okay to call in / skip every once in a while
and then suddenly the things i *wanted* to be better at doing became extra accomplishments i could add on top of the bare minimum, instead of being a bare minimum that I couldn't even manage to meet
and its just weird how much of a difference changing up how i thought about it made
